How can I lock content within a module until an assignment is submitted?

I would like to make the answers to an assignment available only after a student has submitted the assignment.

I can see that I can lock an entire module until the student has submitted an assignment. But I cannot see any way to lock an individual item in a module, such as a content page which would contain the answers.

Each module contains readings, videos and assignments for 1 week.

I don't want to lock the entire weekly module, since some students like to do reading and watch videos ahead of schedule and then submit the assignments in the week when they are due. I want to offer students the students the flexibility to get ahead of schedule.

I should add that I do not want to lock the entire weekly module until the assignment is submitted because an individual student may choose not to submit the assignment, since I throw out the lowest grade of this group of assignments (they are brief reflections on the reading). I don't want to block a student's progress in the course if they choose to skip that particular reflection assignment.

 @harryhahne , greetings! If you don't want the students to complete the assignments in a specific order, then there are two things I can think of that would allow you to do what you want to do.

1. Put the answer page in a different module and use prerequisites to keep the students out of it until they do the assignment.

2. Use Mastery Paths and make it so any grade on the assignment releases the Page.

Either of these would work, it just depends on what you're willing to do to achieve it!

Another option would be to convert the page to a document (Word or PDF). With files you can set a time frame restriction on a document.
