My module pages are missing information at times, usually an instructional video my teacher uploads. She tells me she's uploaded the videos, but they don't display on my page (see attached screen clipping). How can I get this fixed?
Kendra , greetings! This sounds pretty frustrating! My initial recommendation is to try switching to a different Internet browser (Chrome or Firefox) and see if that fixes the problem. Also, if possible, try viewing the video from a different computer or you could even try your phone. If you still aren't able to view your videos, then I would recommend contacting Canvas Support at your school. To do this, click on the Help link in Canvas and "Report a Problem."
Hope this helps! Kona
I’ve been able to see the videos fine on Chrome since the beginning of the semester. Until last week, they worked without issue. I could not see them last week nor this week. I don’t think I did anything differently. Why would they suddenly not work?
Hi Kendra Luthy
I would add to what Kona Jones has said, that this may also be a mixed content security issue. All canvas instances are are on HTTPS servers (URL location), and if your instructor has uploaded a video on an HTTP server, they will not run in Canvas. You will need to permit it as a security exception in your browser.
To learn how to fix, and a better explanation go to Which browsers does Canvas support? and scroll down to Browser Privacy Settings.
