How to select different 3rd party app to work with all courses, i.e., softChalk
Hi Jasper Green Welcome to the Canvas Community. Before you read through some of the links below, you may first want to check with your local Canvas support at your institution. (It appears from your campus directory that this may depend on the which Hawaii campus you are on.) SoftChalk is what is called an "external application" and there is full information on configuring one starting on this page in the instructor's guide: How do I use the Canvas App Center in a course? , and then by clicking the Next Topic link on the bottom of the page to move along to the next page. It is entirely possible that you might have an institutional license to it already, and you can tell by clicking on Settings in any course menu, the Apps tab, and then clicking the Installed link that you see on that page. If you see SoftChalk listed there...you are basically already set, and it's a matter of checking with your local support on what to do next.
Specific information on configuring it can be found by typing in SoftChalk in the search window that you see on that Apps screen. I imagine that if your institution does not have a site license, then it will depend on your purchasing one and following the additional instructions that SoftChalk provides. (Just to be clear, I, personally, have not used the product, but the procedure for installing such apps are all quite similar and start with the information that you see in the online guide and within SoftChalk's help provided in the app center.)
I hope this helps a bit, Jasper!
