I am taking the advanced canvas class and it says I need to upload a paper in student view however I am getting the following screen.
Hi Kelly Beese Welcome to the Canvas Community. You posted your question to a worldwide community of Canvas users who exchange information and best practices, and this sounds like it may be a course that you are designing as an instructor and going through a few steps in the Student View while practicing your Canvas skills. You may want to contact support at your institution for additional help, and it appears this is available for you as a faculty member via Canvas Training for Faculty | Wilmington University . That said, it's good that you joined us here in the Community! We're a great resource and there is a lot of information here that you are welcome to find, use, and contribute to on your own as you learn Canvas....which is a great LMS.
That said, assuming you are designing your own course site where you now are doing something in Student View (which is good practice, by the way, in all of your courses!) this error occurs most often you have created an assignment within Module that has not been published yet. Get out of Student View and then head to Modules. From there, look at the module where your assignment has been published and make sure that the module itself has been published. There is additional information here: How do I use Draft State in Modules?
Hope this helps a bit, Kelly! Welcome to the Canvas World!
