What happens if I don't pass a class?
susan, greetings! What happens if you don't pass a course depends on and impacts potentially a lot of different things - GPA, financial aid, scholarships, delay graduation, etc. Yet, it's also a very individual issue as each student is unique in their specific situation and needs. My recommendation is to contact your school advisor ( or success coach or a person like this) and schedule a time to go in and talk about your specific situation. They should be able to get you the information you need and steer you on the best path. As a side note, I'm not sure if you realized it or not, but you posted this question in the global Community of all Canvas users. Normally people post Canvas related questions in this forum.
Good luck and I hope you can get things figured out! Kona
Hi susan simons Welcome to the Canvas Community!
As my friend Scott Dennis might say, you end up living in a van down by the river, but that's where I live and I don't sublet.
You have asked this question in a global community of Canvas users who only understand the policies of their own schools, and can't help you with this. You need to talk to someone at your school who can answer your question, and I would suggest starting with your teacher. You can learn how to contact your teacher through Canvas at How do I send a message to a user in a course in the Inbox as a student?
Bottom line from someone who has been in education way too long - if you need the course for a diploma, degree or certificate; then you take the class again, and work harder and get tutoring help if needed.
If you don't need the course for any of those things you say, "meh" and you move on.
And in either of those scenarios, if you are a minor living with your parents, you might lose your phone.
And if you are an old fool like me, you know none of this will matter ten years down the road.
