What does it mean when the circle to the right of a discussion post is clicked and turns blue?
Hi Cynthia and welcome to the Canvas community. The circles next to a discussion post indicate whether you have read that post yet. New (unread) posts will have a blue circle and once you've read the post, Canvas will automatically change the circle to white. You can manually change the read/unread state by clicking on the circle - for example if you've read the post but want to mark it as unread so you can find it again later. See this page for details: How do I mark discussion replies as read or unread as a student?
Thank you for the quick response. This explanation is very helpful.
Hi Cynthia Young
If the icon is hollow, it means that you have seen that post. When you click on it and make it a solid blue, you are basically marking as an unread post.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for letting me know. It makes sense now!
