there is a heading "published" what is published?
Hi there eileen bendowsky. Great question, and it's something that puzzled me when I first started using Canvas.
As far as I know, these are courses that you have been 'put into' but the course has not been published - yet. If you try to access it from courses nothing will happen. Or it's a course you have created and not published yet.
Does that help?
Hi eileen bendowsky Welcome to the Canvas Community!
Bobby Pedersen is correct. Canvas provides a function to hide, or rather make unavailable, both courses and course content from users until the teacher is ready for them to be available. This is also known as "Draft State". Published content or courses are available, and unpublished courses or content is unavailable. This might seem trivial, but too many faculty forget to publish either their courses or their content when it should be available, causing many users to submit support requests, inquire in the Community, etc.
