I meant to ask if there was a way to disable all the announcements that roll over when you do a course copy. I do want to use the announcements, but don't want them all to show from the first day of the term. I couldn't' find a button to unpublish an announcement. However, our Canvas pro at EFSC just sent me an email advising that I'd need to edit each announcement and select a 'delay' date. That will work. If anyone has an easier way to do them all at once, please advise. :-)
Howdy Rhonda Rye,
Thanks for your question. I'm not quite clear on what you are asking.
If you do not want announcements to copy over during a course copy, then you would "select specific content" when importing and make sure that "Announcements" was not checked. This might help: How do I select specific content as part of a course import?
If that is not what you meant, please provide a little more details of what you want to do. Let us know if that helped!
Have you tried shifting dates when you copy into the new course? That would potentially do them en masse.
Rhonda Rye Welcome to the Canvas Community! When I was teaching I would enable the Select Content checkbox when copying an existing course over to a new shell; I'd then make sure to de-select the announcements before initiating the copy. I would then copy only the announcements into a different (sandbox) course, and would bring them over to the live course as I needed them.
Good idea. I might try this next term! Thanks Stephanie.
