Adding a Rubric from Existing Doc

Am I able to attach an existing rubric to an assignment? The rubric is not on Canvas--it is a document on my computer, but I would like to import it into the assignment to use. Is that possible or do I need to recreate it in Canvas?#rubric

Currently, you cannot import a rubric into Canvas directly, but there is a feature request for this functionality https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/6311-allow-importing-of-rubrics-from-csv-format and there is a method of doing it from a CSV file Importing Rubrics from a Spreadsheet that was developed by the infamous  @James ‌.
