Anyone have any idea why when I use the equation editor when making a quiz that it does not show up. All old quizzes that I have made are showing the same issue. All I see are fraction bars, no numbers.
Are you using an iPad by any chance?
I have noticed this with a few of my students who are using an iPad. I have not narrowed down exactly which devices, but it continues to happen to the same few students.
When I loan them a Chromebook they don't have the problem.
I use an IMac at home and a desktop at school. It is so frustrating. Thing is that it has not happened until this year. I am really at a loss with what to do.

You're not the only person having this issue. Another person had the issue with Math notation/expressions only *partially* displaying in late July and I know I've seen someone else mention it, but can't find the post right now.
On August 20, the person with the problem came back with "All the students who seemed to have an issue were using Safari on Apple, and an old version at that. Having these students upgrade to the latest version of Safari fixed the problem 100% of the time. That said, I only had a limited number of students, so my sample size is small."
There have been lots of people having problems with running old versions of Safari that Canvas no longer supports. Canvas currently only supports Safari 12 and 13. Since Safari is tied to the Mac OS release, upgrading the operating system on their Mac upgraded Safari to a supported version and the problems disappeared.
