When looking at the grades column, it would be a great help to not see unpublished columns. It's a bit much. I have included an attachment for viewing purposes.
Hi Erika Hebert Welcome to the Canvas Community. That is easy to solve! It is one of the many cool features available via the View menu at the top of your gradebook. Head to View and simply click the selection for Unpublished Assignments so that the checkmark disappears and the columns will disappear. More detail on some of the other features under that menu is here: How do I filter columns by type in the New Gradebook?
Hope this helps, Erika!
That did it! I didn't think to go there & deselect the check mark. This is one of those "duh" moments.
Thanks so much!
Hi, Erika Hebert Welcome to the Canvas Community! I can't tell for certain from your screenshot, but it appears that you're using the Old Gradebook, and you won't be able to hide those columns automatically. You can resize them manually so that they don't take up as much horizontal real estate, and the Resize Columns section of How do I sort columns in the Gradebook? shows how.
In the New Gradebook, you can apply a filter so that the gradebook only displays published items. The View Gradebook Viewing Options section of How do I use the New Gradebook? shows the available filters.
The New Gradebook is going to become the only gradebook in January 2020. If you don't see the ability to turn it on in your course settings, please reach out to your local Canvas admin for more guidance on how to start using the tool and what to be aware of before you turn it on.
I simply had to Head to View and simply click the selection for Unpublished Assignments so that the checkmark disappears and the columns will disappear as stated by Ken Black.
I will hold onto the information you provided too.
Thanks for your response!
