Is there a way to get the errors and warnings emailed to me at work? It would be easier to keep track of things.
Frank Moore, do you use slack at all?
I've created a powershell script that will send SIS errors to a designated slack channel. We then have a team of three sys-admins who can check out what's happening. We use the check mark emoji to indicate that the problem has been fixed and use the create thread to discuss a particular message. We run our sis feeds every two hours. I have the powershell script set up on windows scheduler to run 30 minutes after each sis load.
If you are interested in this, let me know and I can make a blog post about the process and can provide the two powershell files I utilize. Version 1 is very basic right now. Down the road I'd like to include more slack message formatting that will have actual buttons that link to the CSV files in question.
Hi Justin, we are new to Canvas. I'm not sure what a slack channel is. Sounds interesting. But, i was hoping to get an email every morning. We run once a night.
Great info Justin Carrell. I wonder if there's a way to do it on Microsoft Teams.
We use a local NodeJS dashboard and just poll the sis_imports api and and list the status and issues, and make the messages available to download. You could write a script against that endpoint and format the message and email it to yourself.
