Mary Fabela, are you a student or a teacher? Teachers can go to their past courses from the "past courses" menu and access all the previous course material. This can be blocked by your institution but generally I have not seen this to be the case.
As a student, most institution block this from students so you would need to get in touch with your previous teacher or you IT department for them to get you the assignment.
