For our science classes both the lab and lecture are combined into a single course. This means that I may see students twice in one day, once for lab and once for lecture. However, as far as I can figure out Canvas will only let you take roll once per day.

The built-in Roll Call Attendance tool does only allow for one attendance grade per day.
There are some other third-party attendance tools that do allow for multiple attendance grades per day. One that we've been looking at is Qwickly Attendance (Qwickly Attendance | Blackboard, Canvas and D2L Brightspace Attendance and Participation Tracking with Automatic Grading ). We haven't gotten to the point of actually piloting it, but back when we were Blackboard customers, we were pretty happy with Qwickly's other tools.
