Annotating in Speed Grader

When I open speed grader, I don't get the bar on top which allows me to annotate on the document itself. How can I get this to change?

I'm not sure how your assignment is set up but some ideas from this post may help to eliminate issues for you.

Speedgrader Tools not showing  

Some possibilities appear to be:

1. Text entry is utilized
2. Peer reviews are utilized
3. Anonymous peer reviews are utilized  
4. An instructor also has an observer role in the class

Are any of these potentially why it's not operating accurately for you?

Thanks for getting back about this  @mcgowana .

May I suggest contacting Canvas Support through the Help menu in the Global Navigation Menu (bottom left button). The Report a Problem option may get to the cause of this issue.

Thanks. My TA I think found the problem; when I posted the assignment, I

allowed text entry in addition to file upload. I think that is what

prevented the tool box to appear at the top. Lesson learned!
