Assignments in canvas

What is the best way to give students their assignments for the week on canvas?  If i create an assignment and break the weeks down into modules, the assignments show up in the gradebook, even though they are worth 0 points.

Hi Jamie -

Within the assignment details, how are you creating the assignment? If something is “not graded” it will not be included as a column in the gradebook. (How do I add or edit details in an assignment?) The downside to that, is there is not a submission option for the student. 

If you’d like to collect work, you could group these items in an assignment group and then make that particular category worth 0% of the course grade. (How do I weight the final course grade based on assignment groups?‌) Then, from the gradebook, you could use a filter to view the other assignments. (How do I filter columns by type in the Gradebook?‌)
