Personalized assignments using canvasapi

Dear all,

I am rather struggling with the Canvas Python API (canvasapi) , I am hoping this is the right place to be. What I want is rather straightforward (and hence, the solution should be simple ;-))  I would like to make personalized assignments, that is first make an assignment and override it such that only one student can see and do the assignment. I know I have assignment and assignment override to my disposal, but I just cannot see how I can do this in straightforward manner in the canvasapi. Any help would be much appreciated, as I am struggling with this problem for quite some time now.
