Assignments from students submitted thru Canvas?

I know how to sign up assignments, usually students submit them on paper. 

We now have to receive assignments from students via Canvas due to remote teaching. 

How do I set up the assignments so that students can submit the homework on them back thru Canvas?

These would be written papers submitted as files back to me for grading.
