If a student uploads a document, it is in .pdf format and I need to edit the document. How can I edit uploaded documents?

Linda,
If it's a PDF file it means the student likely saved it as a PDF before submitting it. While it's possible to edit a PDF with some programs such as Adobe Acrobat, it's not a great workflow and not something I'd recommend. I'd suggest contacting the student and asking them to resubmit in a different format such as Word if your intention is to edit it.
