SUGERENCIA DE NUEVO TIPO DE PREGUNTA NUMÉRICA [SUGGESTION OF NEW TYPE OF NUMERICAL QUESTION]

Estimados y estimada: SOY PROFESOR DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE CONCEPCIÓN-CHILE
Tengo que realizar una evaluación con un ejercicio de mecánica dinámica en el cual tengo un enunciado común para varios incisos o preguntas a, b, c, etc, todas preguntas de Respuesta Numérica. Por el momento hago el enunciado en una pregunta Texto (sin pregunta) y luego los incisos los hago en preguntas de Respuesta Numérica independientes uno de otro.

¿como lo puedo hacer para guardar esta pregunta como un bloque completo en un banco de preguntas?.

No las puedo agrupar en un grupo de preguntas, porque al realizar la evaluación se desordena el orden, es decir, la letra b) sale antes que la a) y luego el enunciado, etc, aunque no seleccione la función aleatoria (los grupos siempre son randonicos para el estudiante).

quiero tener varias preguntas de este tipo en un banco de preguntas para poder realizar un examen aleatorio entre varias preguntas semejantes, pero como cada inciso de esta pregunta es una pregunta independiente no puedo hacer que formen parte un banco. ¿como lo puedo hacer?.

Una alternativa es usar preguntas con espacio en blanco para cada inciso (a,b,c, etc) pero el espacio en blanco es para caracteres y no para números por lo tanto presenta varios problemas: 

- los espacios en blanco al ser caracteres no alerta sobre el uso de la coma o el punto como separador decimal, como es el caso de la respuesta numérica.

-No tiene para dar margen de error lo que incrementa la cantidad de posibles respuestas a cubrir en un solo caso

-También está la posibilidad de ponderar diferente cada respuesta por ejemplo
a) 1 pto
b) 2 ptos
c) 2 ptos
d) 1 pto
En el caso de espacios en blanco se reparte la cantidad de puntos asignados a la pregunta entre los distintos espacios en blanco de la pregunta, es decir todos los incisos valen lo mismo.

Sería ideal contar con una alternativa de PREGUNTA llamada ESPACIOS EN BLANCO NUMÉRICOS con margen de
error para cada respuesta numérica y que se le puedan sumar otras posibles respuestas.

¿USTEDES PUEDEN SUGERIR ESE DESARROLLO PARA POTENCIAR MÁS AÚN A CANVAS?

Hello  @wesquive  and welcome to the Canvas Community!  By chance have you checked out New Quizzes in Canvas (see What is New Quizzes?)?  You have may have already but in reading your question I was wondering if the options in the numeric question type (see How do I create a Numeric question in New Quizzes?) such as providing a margin of error for questions may be helpful.  I also thought that if you haven't explored New Quizzes that the option for stimulus content (see How do I insert stimulus content in New Quizzes? ) may be useful if you want to have similar questions related to the same content grouped together.

in a question bank.

3.- I can only save the Stimulus as an identity in a question bank, then

when writing a new evaluation I can select the Stimulus manually, not

randomly and write the questions again on the right side of the

Stimulus.

What I need is to have a TYPE OF QUESTION, which allows me to ask

several questions (sections for example a), b), c) ....) of the

numerical answer type and save this QUESTION as a block within a

question bank . Then save about 20 QUESTIONS of this type in a bank of

questions, all with the same assigned score, and when making a new

evaluation, randomly select 3 questions from this bank.

I suggest that INSTRUCTURE develop this new type of NUMERICAL ANSWER

QUESTION WITH MORE THAN ONE SINGLE QUESTION, with the possibility of

weighing each subsection separately, as in the case of multiple choice,

so that it can be a unit that can be part of a bank of questions and can

be chosen to be part of a random evaluation.

I wait for a prompt answer, I need to implement my question bank.

¡Hola, Wislon! También te recomiendo que explores y uses New Quizzes si ya no lo has hecho. Lo que yo pensé al leer tu pregunta es que puedes hacer un "item bank" con las preguntas que quieres en la sección. Entonces, lo que ahora pones en la pregunta "texto" puedes poner en un "Stimulus". Entonces, al crear el stimulus, puedes poner las preguntas del item bank al lado del stimulus. Así, el stimulus se queda en un lugar mientras el estudiante puede desplazarse por las preguntas. You are correct that the stimulus question doesn't meet your need. The math and science faculty have often found Canvas quizzing deficient and need to rethink how we ask questions or use an external solution.

It is extremely unlikely that anything will be done before you need to implement your question bank. Some people have been asking for the same thing for years now and no visible progress has been made. I would encourage you to do the best that you can for now.

You created your message as a question, but since you suggest Instructure develop a new question type, it sounds like a feature idea. There are some existing feature ideas that might satisfy what you are looking for. Canvas encourages people to post their examples and usage cases to those ideas.
