If I use in boxes in Canvas, how many people can be a part of the in box conversation?

Instructors can send a message to all users who are enrolled in a particular course, with limitations as documented in How do I send a message to a user in a course in the Inbox as an instructor?  

Are you running into a maximum number beyond which you are not able to add recipients?
