Course levels, can you combine them?

We are in the process of setting up our Canvas account. After we have imported our CSV files for our SIS data, we have courses that have different levels (2000 & 3000) that meet together but have different requirements. Is there a way to combine the courses and keep the class level separate? Or do we need to create different sections within the course for all students the ability to interact with each other through Canvas?
