How do you track grades for "hard copy" quizzes?

I give quizzes as hard copies in class. I want to enter the grades, and immediately I thought I could do so under the Quizzes rubric. I have discovered however that I cannot create an empty quiz and assign points to it as a place holder to enter the grades from my hard copy quizzes. For any quiz in Canvas, I have to create at least one question and assign points to that question. Otherwise, the quiz in Canvas always has zero points. By comparison, I can create an Assignment, give that Assignment absolutely no content, and still define points for the Assignment.

This approach to record grades for "hard copy" quizzes seems rather ... counter intuitive.

Am I missing something or is this the only way to do what I need? Should this be a feature request -- Allow a user to set points to a quiz even without questions for the quiz? Should Canvas rename the Quizzes section "Online Quizzes", since this is really all that it truly supports (as far as grading is concerned)?
