Can anyone coach me on how to load Crocodoc onto speedgrader...I appreciate the tools that come with that program.
Hi Sharon Anderson...
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "load Crocodoc onto speedgrader". This is already built in to the Canvas LMS. Have you tried using a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome?
Sharon, something else to consider is that Crocodoc only works with .doc/.docx, .ppt/.pptx, and .pdf files - How do I use Crocodoc in Canvas assignments? If you your students have submitted a different type of file then Crocodoc won't show up/work.
Hope this helps!
Sharon, are you still having problems getting Crocodoc to show up/work in Speedgrader?
Sharon, it's been awhile since you posted your original question, and we're hopeful that one of the suggestions above has helped you with your question about Crocodoc in SpeedGrader. As Chris Hofer advised, you don't need to do anything to enable Crocodoc; it will load automatically into SpeedGrader as long as the assignment submission conforms with a Crocodoc-compatible file type. I'll mark Chris's response as correct; if you still have questions about this, just post a follow-up reply to "bump" the thread.
I am having the same symptoms. I feel like I may not set up the 'submission' correctly. I added a quiz, with a question type 'file upload'. Is there another way I can make it possible for a student to upload a doc file. I would prefer NOT have to call it a quiz anyway. But if I do need to create a quiz to allow a student to submit a file, how should I set that up? Does this fail because my file type is docx instead of just doc?
Naren, yes, you can absolutely set up an Assignment for students to submit files to without using "Quizzes." Here's a guide that will take you through step-by-step what you need to do for this - How do I create an online assignment?
Side note, I've never actually used a Quiz to have students submit files even though I know it is possible. I'd say the norm for most people in Canvas is to have students submit to an "Assignment," as described by the guide I linked to.
Awesome! I just killed two thorny issues with one comment! Thank you so much, Kona!!!
Excellent! Glad to hear the information helped!
