Is there a way to download at 1 time the entire contents of the File tab?
If you select all of the files in your File tab (using the shift key), you can then download all of the files as a zip file by clicking on the icon at the top (see screenshot below)
At the very bottom of this Canvas guide, you will see instructions to the same effect: How do I use Files as an instructor?
Connie, as best I can tell, it's possible to download the entire contents of a Folder within Files at one time, but not every file all at once. A quick workaround would be to drag and drop all of the files and folders into a single folder, and then download the folder as a .zip file. Here's a link to the Canvas Guide on downloading folders: How do I download a folder in ZIP format as an instructor?
Actually, Connie, I take part of what I said back. Using CTRL-Shift (CMD-Shift if you're on a Mac), I was able to highlight all of the files and folders within a single course's files; clicking on the Download icon at the top allowed me to download them all at once as a .zip file. So it's possible.
Connie, I recently learned about a cool Chrome browser extension that will do this! It's called Linkclump - Linkclump - Chrome Web Store - and was free, super easy to install, and even easier to use.
Hope this helps!
