Why can students can not see the turn it in originality reports for future dated assignments ?
Hey, Alicia. The instructor can decide when and how students see originality reports with a combination of the optional settings in the LTI tool.
First check this setting:
Also, look at when the reports are being generated with this setting:
Once the instructor has these settings in place, she may want to save them as her default settings:
Now, it is true that there are issues with reports sometimes not displaying in the Speedgrader and Gradebook with the LTI, and there are some issues with some of the custom codes recently released that Canvas is working on fixing for tomorrow's release, but I have never had problems accessing Turnitin reports through the LTI button on the assignment itself.
Does that help? For more about the Turnitin LTI, you can take a look at my blog post: Canvas and Turnitin.
Alicia, there are quite a few variables inherent in your question. To help us address it properly, can you first specify whether your assignments use the Legacy Turnitin API or the Turnitin LTI, which is an external tool?
The university uses Turnitin LTI, the external tool. I am actually inquiring for a faculty member.
I don't have hands-on experience with the Turnitin LTI, so I'm going to tag Dallas E Hulsey on your question, since he's the Community go-to person for all things Turnitin LTI.
Also, I'm wondering if the issue with originality reports not being generated is related to a comment appended today to the Canvas Production Release Notes (2015-10-31) : https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-5189#comment-27315
