I changed my font size to 12pt in Canvas. I noticed that the size of my numbers/bullets didn't increase (please see attachment).
Is this a known issue in Canvas? Please advise.
This is not a bug. What you're changing is the font size on the text, but the size of the numbering is controlled by the list tag, not the text around it or within it.
To make the numbers match the size of the text, do this:
By the way, you do not have to change the font on the text within the list if you change it this way.
That said, if you go crazy with the font sizes, you may need to override some other settings. In Firefox, setting the font-size to 20pt increases the spacing between the items, but it doesn't in Chrome and so the lines overlap a little. If the surrounding text is the same height, it will probably be okay.
Also, changing the font size to a fixed-font size is bad for accessibility. Users should be able to determine their own font size and what looks small on your screen may be fine for someone else. There are also browser considerations to use. Relative font sizes, given as a percentage or relative in terms of an em height should be used instead. Examples: "font-size=110%;" or "font-size=1.1em;
But in general, you should not be specifying a font-size to make the entire page look bigger. Canvas has done a lot of accessibility testing and testing with different browsers and devices that we end-users can't do.
Brittany, I was able to replicate this (Firefox) so I'm wondering if it is a bug. My recommendation is to go ahead and submit it as a Canvas Help Ticket - How do I get help with Canvas?
