I forgot to add someone to a private group discussion.
Carlie, you should be able to go back to your groups and add the person to the correct group with no problem. I know I've done this before (especially if a student adds my class late) and it's never been a problem. Here are two guides that should help - How do I manually assign students to groups? & How do I move a student into a different group?
Okay now I tried to do what the guide showed. Once I clicked View User Groups, nothing appeared.
Would you be able to share a screen shot of what you are seeing? Are you sure that you first have a Group Set created and then one or more groups within that Group Set to put your students into? Any additional information would be helpful.
This is after I have clicked View User Groups. To be honest I'm not quite sure I even did it the first time.
Carlie, from this screen shot it's showing that right now you don't have ANY groups set within your "Project Groups." To create the groups you'd want to click on the "+ group" button (not the + group set button) and add the different groups you'd like to have for the "Project Groups." Once you do that you can then start adding students to your groups. If you don't want to manually assign groups, then you'll need to recreate the Group Set - when you do that you have the option to organize the students into a certain number of groups.
