How can I open up modules for an individual student only but not the rest of the class?
Sifat, unfortunately there isn't a way to open up modules for an individual student, but not the rest of the class. You can open up assignments in Modules to an individual student (and not the rest of the class), but for now that's it. This guide explains how to open up assignments for an individual student - How do I view differentiated assignments with different due dates in a course? - and the link to a feature idea that seems similar to what you are wanting - Module access to specific groups, sections or students. My recommendation is to check out the guide and the feature idea, and also comment and vote on the feature idea.
Hope this helps!
Thanks a lot, Kona. There is a student who requires access to all the modules in the course at a time. I want to give him the access without interfering with the rest of the class.
Sifat, I'm not sure of the best thing to do in this situation because there really isn't a way to differentiate content/modules by students. Could you talk to your Canvas admins and see if they'd allow you to created a course (like a sandbox course) for just this student? You could then easily copy your content from your real class to the sandbox and open up the content in the sandbox.
I'm an admin at my Institution and we had to do something similar when students in the same course were using different software (most were using the traditional software, but a few were using a different software). The Instructor had different content for the different software and to make it easier on everyone we just created a new course for the few students using the different software. It wasn't linked to our student information system and was an "off the grid" sandbox, but it worked!
Hope you are able to make this work for your situation!
