I saw this posted on twitter and thought I'd share in case someone here might want to give this a try:
Funny how serendipity works. Random search led me to this and I just saw an email today related to Geogebra. Now I am doubly interested. Is anyone using this with or without Canvas that can give me a quick synopsis of how they use it?
I'e been using GeoGebra with my math classes (online, 7th-12th grade) for several years.
Here's how I use it:
As a teacher:
I just had a teacher ask about this last week. After poking around a bit, it looks like we can add it from the App Center but the only integration that I saw was teachers could add it to a module via External Tool.
I can't share any more than that as I am not a math teacher, but they seemed to be interested in getting it working!
It does seem like it might be more useful if it could be added to the Course Navigation or as a link on a page so students could access whenever they wanted to.
Adding it to a modules seems like you'd have to be fairly thoughtful in your placement...and would have to add it in multiple places each time you want them to use it?
I think it might make more sense to maybe use the Redirect Tool and point it to the GeoGebra Graphing Calculator website. Graphing Calculator - GeoGebra
Just wanted to add one more thing...
If a teacher HAS a GeoGebra account and can sign in, they can create in GeoGebra and then use the HTML embed code to put that in their Canvas course (see below). This is from one of our teacher's Geometry course.
I added the Geogebra graphing LTI and whilst I would like to have the option of it on a page, it works well on a module.
The only issue I have is that size of it. On our Canvas page there is a HUGE white space not being used at least 1/3 of the available page is empty. Is this just me? Anyone know how to improve on this?
