Is there a way to mark items as done in a module through the canvas app?@

Yes, I stand corrected. Mark as Done is marked by the student. Unfortunately, it doesn't work in the iOS app, but does in Android.
I would definitely create an idea for this.
Also, are you part of the Canvas Mobile Users? If so, I would suggest you "Start a Mobile Idea Discussion" in the group. This way the idea can gain some traction before going live. If you aren't part of the group, you can join.
Hi Kristen Kilpo...
I'm not quite sure of the answer to your question, but I wanted to let you know that I am going to share your question with the Canvas Mobile Users Group group here in the Canvas Community. I am also going to tag your message with keywords so that we can make your question more visible in the event that others have a similar question. I'm also going to modify the title of your question a bit since it is very similar to what you have in the body of your message. If the revised title doesn't accurately reflect what you are asking in the body of your message, please let me know, and we can make any necessary changes. If you are not a part of the Canvas Mobile Users Group group, you might want to consider following that group as well. Hope this helps!
I see the same thing Kristen Kilpo, never noticed it before, good question! I'm using an iOS, are you on Android I'd be curious?
I am using an iPad.

Students can't manually mark items in a module as done. Items are only marked as done if they complete (view, submit a assignment/quiz, etc) a module requirement. When I set module requirements, and view the module as a student, I can see what is done on iOS, Android, and Web.
But you can set certain requirements to just be "mark as done" also.. Some
of my items require them to submit something, some items just require them
to "mark as done". I know I could change the requirement to just be "view
the item", but I am curious if it's possible to do also have them mark
items as done in the app and not just the web browser version.

Feature request it I'll vote! It would make sense if the option is there to add it as a requirement that it would appear on the app. Otherwise students using the app may not understand why they cannot progress in the module. I don't think faculty setting the Module requirements will have an awareness that it's a browser-only requirement. They could use "view" instead of "mark as done" but there isn't an indicator suggestion one is browser-only I don't think.
