MEGAN, I've shared your question with the Teaching Math in Canvas group; maybe they've come up with something creative along these lines. And, if you're not already a member, you might want to click on the link to join that group to exchange tips and tricks with like-minded Canvas users.

MEGAN, was the Teaching Math in Canvas group able to help you out with this? And if not, would you like to submit a feature idea requesting this question type? If you decide to do so, please read How do I create a new feature idea? and How to write a good feature idea submission first. I know that Instructure is currently occupied with a massive quiz project (The specified item was not found.), and perhaps a plot-point question type, if submitted, could be incorporated.

Where you able to find an answer to your question? I am going to go ahead and mark this question as answered because there hasn't been any more activity for about a week so I assume that you have the information that you need. If you still have a question about this, by all means, please do come back and leave a comment.

Hi MEGAN GOBLE...

There isn't any question type in the current Canvas interface that would let your students be able to plot points on a number line. I suppose what you could do (and I totally understand that this is not ideal because you want your students to use a number line) is to design your question as either a multiple choice or a multiple answer question with your number line as possible answers (say your number line was 0-5)...so you'd have a possible answer for each number, 0 through 5. Of course, assuming that you were only using whole numbers, this might work.

Text of Questiona. 0

b. 1

c. 2

d. 3

e. 4

f. 5

Maybe in the body of your question you could have an image of what the line should look like and then have the corresponding answers as shown above. Again...not ideal by any means...but it might work as a last resort.
