I was wondering if there is the ability for users on your school canvas login page to only type their username and not have to add @domain?
This depends on how the school's Canvas Admin set up the user accounts. There is a login_id filed for every user. If, during set up, the Canvas Admin included the domain with the username, then they have to enter the useraname@domain in order to log in to Canvas. The Canvas Admin does have the ability to change these wither manually or through an SIS import.
So when I to an export from SIS, in the username column I would remove the
@domain portion and that would be the fix?

Here is what the CSV users import files looks like:
When you extract from your SIS (we use Banner) to build this users import file, the login_id field is what the student will type in the Username field on the log in page. If your extract has username@domain all in one field, then yes, you will need to drop the @domain when you add that information to the login_id field. We are able to extract a username and then match this to the login_id field via an export program that my Banner admin created.
Thank you Robbie got it. I love that the obvious is right in front of you. I looked at that and didn't even think! LOL
Great! Glad I could point out the obvious .
