We're interested in building a system to email instructors who have student submissions that are not yet graded after certain a time period has passed. We're also interested in being able to produce a report for instructors and department heads on grading on-time vs grading late for student work. The goal is to help instructors recognize and meet their obligations to grade within the timeframe required by the academic department.
It looks like it could be done with a custom program that uses the Assignments, Submissions, and Grade Change Log APIs and a local database. I was curious as to whether anyone else has done this, or if there's an easier way that I'm not thinking of.
