I have 3 quizzes that students have taken and now the grads have disappeared. How do I recall these grades?
I actually was able to recover the missing grades about an hour ago. I thank you so much for al your advice. There definitely is too many hands in the pot for this course. Only 4 weeks left!

Hi Kimberly Foisy. Well, obviously that should not be happening! Does more than one person have instructor or TA access to your course? But to directly answer your question--assuming the grades were recorded properly, to begin with--using Canvas' ability to retrieve grading history may help. You can see how to find the grading history here: How do I use grading history in the Gradebook?
Another possible option, depending on when the grades were originally recorded, is to check your test or beta installation if you have your own Canvas account at your institution. Those can sometimes be a life-saver when something happens to grades, but be aware that they are "refreshed" every 3 weeks. (Most recently this past weekend.) Instructions on accessing your test environment is here: How do I access the Canvas test environment? and instructions on accessing your beta environment is here: How do I access the Canvas beta environment? .
Hope one of these suggestions helps you find your grades.
Hi It says my course is too large. I have 26 students. Or is it the number of assignments within the course
Kimberly, I've never heard of Canvas saying your course is too large and removing quizzes. Was it Canvas or another program that removed the quizzes. Also, how many assignments (total of all types) do you have in your course?
Do you know if the course has been concluded? When this is done, quiz/assignment submissions can disappear. We've had cases of one teacher concluding a course, sometimes accidentally, and then another teacher on the course asking where the quiz submissions have gone.
If it's a concluded course then it will show under "Past enrolments" on your course listing screen. However, it's possible to unconclude a course, and if the course has been concluded and then unconcluded it's not immediately obvious that this has happened - the course will look normal again. However the quiz submissions will still be missing after the course is unconcluded.
Kimberly, that's great news! A lot of us have been following this mystery. Would you mind taking a moment to tell us what happened, and how you solved the problem?
