This has been a great series of CanvasLIVE events. During the session there were several comments about usability for people with multiple Google accounts. For institutions that have Google Suite for Education (GSE), I would love to see a setup where the Canvas sysadmin can add the LTI link and when users log in to Canvas, they are simultaneously logged in to their GSE accounts. If the user is already logged in to another Google account, Canvas would prompt them to select the account they want to use when submitting papers, inserting docs and presentations, etc.
One of my favorite things about embedded Google Docs is the ease with which students can paste images into them (without the clumsy need to download an image to their device or save a screenshot as an image, then file upload to Canvas). While I'm awaiting the day that Google Doc's marvelous image-handling magic will come to Canvas, I wonder if there are ways to make that "poster board" space wider. A few things I've learned:
Any other tips?
Thanks for sharing your tips! I am about to do a big content development push this summer based in Google Docs, and I am excited about the way that content will be available in Canvas (and I also need to iframe it elsewhere). :-)
This episode has given me some organizational tips to use with the first Canvas course that I am building as a self paced PD. Thanks!
Be sure to watch the entire GOOGLE LTI series, hosted by Canvas Trainer Nicholas Demas.
