Admin Analytics should use Section dates

In the Course Status Report and other places, it appears Course dates are used, which doesn't indicate when a course is open at our school. Could course "start at" and "conclude at" dates use section dates if they are not blank, and only use course or term dates if there are no section dates?   Or give us a choice.

I like that the course status report indicates cross-listings, and seeing the access controlling section dates would be important to us and others that use section dates for short courses.

Our courses belong to a term which equates to an academic year, we then use sections to manage student participation in each semester. So at this point in the year we have students who completed courses in December and also students enrolled to participate over the summer, we would not expect either of these cohorts to have activity in those courses in the last 7 days. It would be helpful to have a filter to only include data for active sections, or perhaps to be able to filter by dates and then only include enrolments which should be active in the current period?
