[ARCHIVED] Changing a user's role

I have an admin account. How can I change a user role from TA to Teacher? When you search by people, they are showing as TAs but need to be teachers. Also, I have changed permissions for roles, but TAs do not have the ability to 'Start a new course'. Any ideas?

Hello there, @bassca2 ...

Sorry to see that your question has been sitting out here for quite a while without a response.  Roles are assigned at the course level.  So, in order to change a user from a TA (Teaching Assistant) to a Teacher, follow the steps in this Guide: How do I edit user roles in a course?.  As for who can create a new course in Canvas, those check-box settings can be found in the administrative pages of Canvas.  How do I set details for an account?  Look at the section near the bottom of the Guide called "View Who Can Create New Courses".
