How do I change my username?  My current email address is going to be decommissioned and I need to start using a different one.

What Stefanie is asking is do you need to change your login credentials in a Canvas account or in this Canvas Community?

• To change your login credentials for a Canvas account you will need to contact your school's Canvas Admin or support department.  I see you are new to the Canvas Community, so you might not understand that this is a global community of Canvas users who do not have access to your school's Canvas instance, nor their user information and credentials.
• As for your Canvas Community credentials, the Community uses the same credentials you use to access Canvas, and you can learn more at https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-3777

You will need to contact your school's Canvas support folks, then. Sometimes you can find them dirtectly by clicking "Help" in Canvas, but most often you will need to look them up in your school directory.

If that is true, why has Canvas Community decided that I am my husband's online gaming persona Spaminabox? I used to be eoseid or Elizabeth Oseid. My husband has nothing whatsoever to do with Canvas.

When I log in, I see Welcome, Elizabeth.

When I click on my profile icon, I see Spaminabox, Community User.

I see no place to edit this, and it has nothing to do with University of Wisconsin, Madison, who I am sure has no idea what My husband's online gaming persona is. I would like very much to have this rectified.

Nice to see someone else from Wisconsin.  I am relatively close by (Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac, WI).  I replied to you in your other thread, Re: changing the username - Instructure Community.  If you are unable to edit your Community username on that screen, let me know, and I can reach out to one of the Community Managers at Instructure to see if they can work with you to get your username changed to something you want.
