This is certainly unusual behaviour.
There are a few possibilities outlined in this document Why can't I access my Course as a student? and https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10596-4212710333
This one jumps out as a contender in your instance:
If your institution enrolled you in your course, your enrollment may not have been set up properly. Please contact your instructor(s) for assistance.
Or the course might be hidden in All Courses.
Students can find them via these steps:
- Go to 'Courses' in the global navigation menu on the far left.
- Then scroll to 'All Courses'
- From there select (colour in the star on the left) the courses you would like to appear on the Dashboard.
