[ARCHIVED] Hide an answer file or answer page from one student

I have a student that I am giving an extension to on an assignment.  However, I want to post an answer file for all of the other students in my course and hide the answer file from the student that has not yet completed the assignment.  The answer files are on a page in canvas and I upload the files to the page once the assignment is complete.  Is there a way to hide either the file or a page from selected students?

You can do this in a couple of ways.

1. In your module's edit menu, add a requirement that students must move through the content in sequential order. Then find the assignment in the drop-down list, and require "submit the item." Make sure the answer file comes afterward, and they won't be able to see it until they submit the assignment. (Note that these settings affect the whole module, so they won't be able to see anything else until they submit the assignment. So if your student with the extension needs to access other content before completing the assignment, you will have to create separate modules.)

2. Put the answer files in a separate module from the assignment, and then restrict access to it by requiring students to finish the previous module as a prerequisite. These options can also be set in each module's edit menu.
