Images uploaded into Files and embedded into Questions in a Quiz are not displaying properly. I have sized them all the same. Some are OK, some are not. I cannot find the "Manage Permissions" area or anything else internet suggests. I really need someone to guide me through this like a child.
I am answering your question exactly as it is written, so please forgive me if this is how you go about uploading the image.
Instead of uploading the image as a file, go to the image tab and upload the image from here. So, go to quizzes, then select + quiz to create a quiz, then on the right-hand side select the images tab.
You will then have the option to upload a new image.
After you select this, you can then browse your computer for the image you choose to upload and then I create an alternative name. You can select the box "decorative image" to prevent from having to name and save the image to your Canvas, however, I will say I have had trouble with sharing the quizzes to Commons and the images exporting correctly for someone else if I use it as a "decorative image."
Please keep us posted if this still does not help!
Thanks - I was uploading directly to "Files" - I'll try this if I can figure out where the "Images" tab is. Can you not embed images from your own computer and bypass Canvas entirely so that students can't access the image to see the title, etc? This is how Blackboard works.
Take a look at the screen shots above. The image tab is right next to the files tab. They are on the right-hand side of your screen as you are creating a quiz (or really anything). You cannot copy and paste images. You can copy and paste bitmojis, but you have to have images saved and upload as images in order to access that way.
Sadly, there is no Images tab on this Canvas. Attached are screenshots.
I see the screenshot from your main page. The tab that is pictured in the
images above and that I am referencing are actually in where you create the
quiz. Go back to quizzes, go to + quiz (to create a quiz) and then you
should see the images tab. You will also see that images tab when you
create an assignment, discussion post, a page....nearly anything you create
in Canvas. Hope that helps!

I see - you have to add the images BEFORE you make the quiz. I was trying to find the images tab from the quiz I had already made. So if I add images BEFORE I make a quiz will the students be able to see the image files with the names of the images somewhere? I'm not redoing this test. I have just renamed all the images in the Midterm jpg folder so hopefully that will do it. The preview seems to be showing them all right even tho' they are inserted from "Files". I guess I won't know if it works until the students try to access it. Blackboard is soooooo much easier.
From your homepage you can go to "student view" and you can see exactly
what the students see! However, you should not need to upload the images
first. I will show the steps below for a quiz I currently have and I will
make the adjustments to add in images.
Click in to the quiz, and go to edit.
Next, select the "questions" tab and hover over so you can choose the
pencil next to the question you want to edit.
Click in the textbox as for where you want to place your image. You can
also add images in the feedback section, as well, you cannot use images for
answer choices, but I can show you how I work around that if you are
interested.
Then scroll back to the top and select the images tab.
Then you can select upload a new image.
Browse your computer for the image you need, select upload, and it might
take a second, but your image will appear!

Just had a classful of panicked emails from students who opened the test and got a big LOCK instead of the images they are supposed to write about.
So basically, don't put images in Files. Put them all in Images and upload to quizzes from there. Can the students see the images in the Image file?
Students do not have access to your files. They can only see the images
that you have placed within the quiz.

Thank you. It seems to have worked for them.
