We are looking for a way our teachers can see which students are online so they can take attendance in an online course similar to how they would in a face-to-face classroom. They would like to base the attendance on the student being logged into Canvas in their course at a set time similar to how they would show up for a regular class and take attendance. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance!
Hi there, @schachernp ...
The only solution I can think of right now is if you were to enable the "Chat" button within your course. Students may also need to visit the "Chat" button so that you could see who is online at the same time you are. How do I use Chat as an instructor? - Canvas Community
Do you think this might meet your needs? Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks! Take care, stay safe, and be well.
