Hi Friends,
I would like to unlock the modules for one student, but keep them locked for everyone else.
I'm teaching a summer session, and I have a student requesting the later modules be unlocked. However, I prefer the class to progress from week to week together. In this one case, the student is going back to his university 1/2 way into our summer session. He'd like to complete all the requirements in the first 3 weeks. It's fine with me, but I don't think it's possible to unlock the modules just for him.
Is it possible to unlock for this one student and keep them locked for everyone else?

Hi Meghan, sadly there is no good way to unlock a module for an individual student. Kona Jones did create a blog post some time ago that shows ways of bypassing requirements in a module that you might find useful: Bypassing Requirements/Prerequisites
You might also want to put your weight behind a current idea that would allow you to do exactly what you need, allow an individual student to progress. https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/5689-unlocking-modules-for-individual-students
I understand the need for this, we have seen instructors needing students to allow a student to progress and my solution has been to temporarily remove a module requirement and as soon as the student as accessed what they need to put it back on but, this can be problematic if another student happens to be active in the course at that moment.
