I am an instructor in a course. A student uploaded a file to a wrong assignment. Can I remove that file?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Have the student upload the correct file to the intended assignment. Students always see their most recent upload and (for now*) can upload multiple times.
From the student guide:
Any attachments added as part of a graded assignment submission are also copied to your user files but are not counted against your user quota. However, once the file has been uploaded as a submission, you cannot delete the file. Files are stored in the Submissions folder.
*In a future Canvas release (April), we'll have the ability to restrict the number of times an assignment can be submitted. See Limited Submission Attempts
Hope this advice helps,
Cheers - Shar

Thanks for your reply.
The students do upload again to the correct assignment, however the incorrect submission creates a lot of problems for instructors and TAs. We are a very large course.
