Catalog Release Notes (2024-03-25)

In this Catalog release (March 25), admins can customize storefront brand colors, logos, and header images. Additionally, the My Courses link is changed back to open the Canvas Dashboard.

Catalog Theme Editor

Admins can customize storefront brand colors, logos, and header images. This feature allows admins to easily customize Catalog storefronts without using custom JS/CSS.

To begin theme customization, click the Catalog Name link.

In the Catalog Info tab, click the Enable the new Storefront toggle to enable the theme editor.

In the Customizations tab, users can view the default theme, as well as any other created themes. New themes can be created by copying the default theme.

Click the Edit Theme button to make changes to the copied theme.

The Theme Editor displays a preview of the Catalog storefront theme. 

To make general customizations to the theme, select the General link. 

In the General edit tray, users can customize the header image, logo, favicon, primary color, and filter pill color. 

To update header and footer customizations, select the Header & Footer link.

In the Header & Footer edit tray, users can customize the header background, width, cover image, background color, height of separator, and separator color.

Click the Save button to save all customizations.

To enable the customized theme in the storefront, click the Apply Theme icon.

The My Courses link is changed back to open the Canvas Dashboard. This update reverts a change made in the 2024-02-26 Catalog release, and allows Catalog users to go directly to the Canvas Dashboard from Catalog and easily see all of the Canvas To Do tasks.
