Calendar and To Do list empty in student app

Hello. I am using the student app on a Galaxy S21. My issue is that my "to-do" list is always empty and my calendar never shows any assignments.
I have attached screenshots. I have an assignment due today but the to do list and calendar are empty. I have the classes added to the calendar (screenshot attached), but nothing shows up.
The calendar works fine in the parent app (screenshot attached).
I have un-installed and re-installed the app already and tried clearing the cache.
