The first thing I would check is the version of Canvas Student. 16.4.2 was released just a few days ago. If that doesn't help with the sync, you can try to clear the cache upon the next launch of the app, but it may be worthwhile to connect with Support. A help ticket can help engineers better understand what you're experiencing.
