Hello Everyone,
We recently became an entire Microsoft school. I am looking into connecting Collaborations with our OneDrive. Our security team is concerned about the app permissions it grants. I wonder if anyone in this group came across this at their school and how you might implement it.
A few other questions:
1.) Auditing | When connecting OneDrive to Canvas, where does the ownership lie with the logs, and how easily can they be extracted should a data breach occur?
2.) If only collaborations are turned on, who owns the collaborations? The person who sets them up? Does deleting the collaboration on Canvas also delete the collaboration in SharePoint?
3.) Collaborations would create a SharePoint group site for each Canvas course where the files are stored. When students are removed from the MS Licensing group, will the group become orphaned? How is storage impacted, and are systems in place to remove these group sites over time?
4.) How do other institutions handle these elements that OneDrive opens up to?
5.) Can Canvas audit if an LTI is changed or updated?
6.) If the ability to connect to OneDrive is available, does it present every file the user can pull from? IE, if the user is connected to the President's Office, Provost's Office, and General Counsel, will those files be present to select from?
Thank you!
Kari
Hi @kari,
I do not have any answers to your questions (maybe someone else will) because my institution has not enabled any integrations between the Canvas LMS and what either Microsoft or Google offer.
What I can help you with is some general recommendations:
Best of luck!
