The answer to your question really depends on if you are using the Free For Teacher (FFT) version of Canvas or if you are using a paid Canvas environment...and even then, there might be different answers depending on what your school has set up. In FFT, you can enroll your students by using this Guide:
If your school is using a paid Canvas environment, you (as the instructor) may be able to add users to your courses on your own, but many times schools will have things set up so that the Student Information System (SIS) is sending instructor/student enrollments automatically without you needing to do this on your own.
I would highly suggest that you have a conversation with your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education team or your school's Canvas administrator to see what process they have in place for enrollments. It may be that you don't need to do anything on your own and that it will be handled automatically via other means.
